Confidentiality and Privacy

Confidentiality Statement

At Zari, we recognize that confidentiality and privacy are foundational to our services. We are dedicated to fostering an environment of trust where you feel secure sharing sensitive information.

We respect your privacy. We do not sell your data, track you across platforms, or collect personal information without your informed consent. Any forms, bookings, or sign-ups are used solely for direct communication and are never shared with third parties without your explicit permission.

We comply with applicable Canadian federal and British Columbia provincial privacy laws, including the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), where relevant.

Our Confidentiality Commitment Includes:

Privacy Assurance

Any personal, medical, or family information—especially as it relates to eldercare or neurodiverse supports—is handled with utmost sensitivity. Information is shared only on a need-to-know basis to fulfill service delivery.

Professional Discretion

Consulting engagements, including in human resources, governance, or community care, are managed with discretion. Organizational insights and personnel information are safeguarded in line with best practices for public and nonprofit sectors.

Data Protection

We use secure, encrypted platforms to store and transmit data. While some third-party service providers may store data outside of Canada (e.g., in the U.S. or EU), we work only with vendors that uphold strong data protection standards. All vendors are evaluated for compliance with Canadian and EU privacy expectations.

Access and Accountability

You have the right to access, correct, or withdraw consent for the use of your personal information at any time. Requests can be directed to our designated Privacy Contact (details below). We will respond within timelines consistent with BC’s privacy legislation.

Digital Trust and Public Service Standards

Zari upholds the principles of transparency, accountability, and care. Our digital and interpersonal practices are informed by trauma-aware, equity-rooted, and public service–oriented values. We aim to meet or exceed the expectations of:

  • The Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for BC
  • Emerging standards in inclusive digital service design
  • Community-informed approaches to ethical data stewardship
